CHAMPIONS ON AND OFF THE PITCH
my favorite thing is the fact that the national team were the epitome of professionalism, discipline and class. they built the own resort hotel, training ground, football fields, health center, road, brought in their state-of-the-art equipment etc(these germans leave no stone unturned, my goodness) and they’ll leave these behind to the locals, on top of the ambulance a they’ve also donated. they visited brazilian villages and interacted with the locals and were always so rfiendly and warm. even after the 7-1 thrashing of brazil during the match, they remained humble about it, to the point of apologetic all over their social networking accounts. they have the coolest and funnest photos of them sailing, dancing with the natives, etc. they looked and played and moved like a team. I’m not even sure they’re consistently conscious about it but it’s beatuiful for any outsider to witness their amazing team spirit.
This is a victory not only for the players, but also to their family and friends, the coaching staff godammit (GOOD JOB COACHING STAFF), their medical team, their yoga instructor, the football association, angela merkel, the german people, everyone.
more or less a decade ago, dfb took a good look at l themselves and were hell-bent on improving their system. they invested so much into creating a better, improved footballing philosophy. now they are reaping the rewards. amazing grassroots culture, youth development, sports education, etc. some say this is classic german efficiency and i agree. congrats to everyone involved, especially to those who worked hard for all these successes behind the glare of the media limelight.
i’m not german, tbh, but it is impossible to feel nothing but passion and pride for the nationalmannschaft. congratulations Germany nt :)
take a bow.
